Warfield is a small community located in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia, situated along the Columbia River between the towns of Rossland and Trail. With a population of approximately 1,700 residents, Warfield serves as a residential and rural hub for the area, offering proximity to outdoor recreation and regional employment centres.
The community developed historically as part of the broader mining and industrial activity that characterised the Kootenay region. Today, Warfield functions primarily as a bedroom community for workers employed in Trail’s smelting operations and other regional industries.
